Gusto is centrally located in close proximity to Banbury, Oxford and Warwick with excellent access to the M40. Animator *NEW*
We are looking for an experienced animator to enhance our current art team. The successful candidate would be involved in producing realistic character and environment animations as well as influencing the future vision of the company. Reporting to the Lead Artist you must have the following qualities:

  • Must be self motivated, intelligent and enthusiastic with the ability to motivate others.
  • At least 3 years experience building, rigging, and animating characters.
  • A proven ability to produce realistic animations for the human form (mo-cap and free-hand) that promotes personality, mood, weight distribution and realism.
  • Ideally would have shipped at least two titles.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • An excellent technical understanding of animation and modelling techniques with the ability to communicate with both the art and programming team.
  • Experienced in 3DStudio Max, Character Studio and MotionBuilder.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise competently with all.

Character Modeller *NEW*
We are looking for an experienced character modeller to produce stylised characters for a new PlayStation 3, XB360 and PC title. Reporting to the Art Supervisor you must have the following qualities:

  • Industry experience is preferred.
  • Good knowledge of modelling, character rigging, skin weighting, shading and texturing is essential.
  • Good knowledge of 3ds Max or similar 3D package and Photoshop.
  • Experience with lighting and pencil drawing is a plus but not essential.
  • Must have a good understanding of the latest graphics techniques.
  • Ability to produce concept art to a presentable standard.
  • Must be self-motivated, with good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Good understanding of pipelines, tools and processes.
  • Must have a willingness and the enthusiasm to learn new skills.
  • Ability to work within the restrictions imposed by the platform, programmers and Lead Artist.

We are looking for an Environment Artist to join our expanding art team. The successful candidate would be involved in producing a variety of environmental art assets in 3DS Max to a high quality. Reporting to the Art Supervisor you must have the following qualities:

  • Skilled in Low & High polygon modelling and Texturing.
  • Must have the ability to produce high quality artwork in a variety of styles.
  • Must have a good understanding of the latest graphics techniques used on high-end PC and PS3.
  • Experience of designing and creating user interfaces is an advantage.
  • Traditional art skills are an advantage.
  • Animation skills are an advantage.
  • Ability to produce concept art to a presentable standard.
  • A good understanding of technical restrictions on a variety of platforms.
  • A good understanding of the production process from concept to release.
  • Awareness of the best selling games currently on the market and the graphical styles being employed within them.
  • Proven ability to use industry standard 2D & 3D packages.
  • To play an active role in the development of the game, including design input where necessary.
