Banbury Studio

Based in the Oxfordshire countryside the Gusto HQ has a number of exciting titles that are in full production. Gusto is centrally located in close proximity to Banbury, Oxford and Warwick with excellent access to the M40. The tranquil out-of-town location offers a modern working environment with the benefit of free parking and an on-site cafe.

During the development cycle Gusto's development staff get to tackle many technical challenges either on their own or whilst working alongside other talented staff. Animator *NEW*
We are looking for an Animator who is able to produce stylised character animations for a forthcoming Wii title. Reporting to the Art Supervisor you must have the following qualities:

  • Industry experience is preferred.
  • Experience of animation, character rigging, skin weighting is essential.
  • Able to animate to a high quality without the use of motion capture data.
  • Good knowledge of 3ds Max or similar 3D packages.
  • Experience of MotionBuilder would be a benefit.
  • A good technical understanding of the animation process would be beneficial.
  • A strong grasp of momentum, weight and timing is essential.
  • Must be self-motivated, with good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ideally would have shipped at least one title in the last 6 months.
  • Good understanding of pipelines, tools and processes.
  • Must have a willingness and the enthusiasm to learn new skills.
  • Ability to work within the restrictions imposed by the platform, programmers and Lead Artist.

We are looking for an experienced character modeller to produce stylised characters for a forthcoming Wii title. Reporting to the Art Supervisor you must have the following qualities:

  • Industry experience is preferred.

  • Good knowledge of 3ds Max or similar 3D package and Photoshop.
  • Experience with lighting and pencil drawing is a plus but not essential.

We are looking for a good all-round Artist to join our expanding art team. The successful candidate would be involved in producing a variety of art assets as well as influencing the future vision of the company. Reporting to the Art Supervisor you must have the following qualities:

  • Awareness of the best selling games currently on the market and the graphical styles being employed within them.
  • Proven ability to use industry standard 2D & 3D packages.
  • Proven ability to work to the style set by the lead artist.
  • Proven ability to work within the restrictions imposed by the platform, programming team and Lead Artist.
  • Experience of designing and creating user interfaces.
  • Involved with at least one published game from concept stage through alpha and beta to completion on console or PC.
  • Experience of Flash and ActionScript would be an advantage.
  • Skilled in Low polygon modelling, Animation, GUI Design and Texturing.
  • To play an active role in the development of the game, including design input where necessary.

  • A Minimum of at least two shipped games projects.
  • Extensive and up to date experience of graphics rendering and visual effects technology is essential.
